This 9-day adventure takes you deep into the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the “Mountains of the Moon.” Experience alpine landscapes, glaciers, waterfalls, and unique vegetation zones while trekking one of Africa’s most scenic mountain ranges.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe – Kasese

After breakfast, drive to Kasese town with lunch en route.

Arrive in Kasese, check in, and rest in preparation for the trek.

Meals: Full Board

Day 2: Nyakalengija – Nyabitaba Hut

After breakfast, transfer to Nyakalengija trailhead for registration and briefing.

Begin the trek through farmland and forest to Nyabitaba Hut.

Dinner & Overnight: Nyabitaba Hut
Meals: Full Board

Day 3: Nyabitaba – John Matte Hut

Trek through bamboo forests and cross rivers and bogs to reach John Matte Hut.

Dinner & Overnight: John Matte Hut
Meals: Full Board

Day 4: John Matte – Bujuku Hut

Continue trekking through the lower and upper bogs to Bujuku Hut, located in the Bigo Bog area.

Day 5: Bujuku – Elena Hut

Ascend steep trails to Elena Hut with views of glaciers and alpine vegetation.

Dinner & Overnight: Elena Hut
Meals: Full Board

Day 6: Elena – Kitandara Hut

Cross mountain passes and descend to the beautiful Kitandara Lakes.

Dinner & Overnight: Kitandara Hut
Meals: Full Board

Day 7: Kitandara – Guy Yeoman Hut

Trek through alpine zones to Guy Yeoman Hut.

Dinner & Overnight: Guy Yeoman Hut
Meals: Full Board

Day 8: Guy Yeoman – Nyabitaba

Descend through forest zones back to Nyabitaba Hut.

Dinner & Overnight: Nyabitaba Hut
Meals: Full Board

Day 9: Nyabitaba – Entebbe

Descend to the trailhead and transfer back to Entebbe for departure.
